    As per recent disclosure, Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) spent $1.31 million in lobbying the federal government on Wall Street reform, consumer protection and other issues in the second quarter of 2011 down 11% from the $1.47 million it spent in the second quarter last year.

    Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) spent the money in lobbying the White House, Congress, the Council of Economic Advisers and the Housing and Urban Development and Treasury Departments on implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, the Consumer Protection Act, derivatives and fees paid by retailers for debit card usage. It also lobbied federal officials on data privacy and security, cybercrime and many other issues.
