    Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) on Monday announced that on December 31, 2010, it had completed transactions with Discover Financial Services ("Discover") and SLM Corporation ("Sallie Mae") that resulted in the divestiture of its student loan business, The Student Loan Corporation. Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) is continuing its efforts in reducing legacy positions. As a result of this sale, Citigroup was able to reduce Citi Holdings by $3 billion.
    Citicorp, which is its core business, remains attractive and profitable while further sale and restructuring of Citi Holdings, Citigroup's non-core business will make it stronger. Shares of Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) closed at $4.9 on Monday above resistance level of $4.78. There are no Major resistance points above Monday's close. Major support levels for Citigroup Inc. below yesterday's close are at $4.78, $4.62, $4.39, $4.24 and $3.95.
