The French drugmaker has approached Genzyme (GENZ) about a takeover, sources said. Talks are in early stages, with no indication of a price. Reports surfaced in June that Sanofi-Aventis (SNY) was in talks to buy a U.S. drug firm for some $20 billion.

(NYSE:SWI) announced after market close today that they expect third quarter earnings of $0.16 to $0.18 per share on revenue of $37.0 million to $39.0 million while Analysts estimate is $0.19 per share on revenue of $43.0 million for the quarter ending September 30, 2010. Solarwinds Inc. expects 2010 earnings of $0.67 to $0.70 per share on revenue of $146.0 million to $151.0 million compared to previous guidance of $0.72 to $0.75 per share on revenue of $159.0 million to $165.0 million. Shares dropped 10% in after hours trading. It could be a good buy at early dip tomorrow.
MLNX - Mellanox Technologies, Ltd.(NASDAQ:MLNX)
Mellanox Technologies (MLNX) shares plunged more than 15% in after hours trading after they announced Q2 results. The Israel-based fabless chip company announced revenue of $40 million and profits of 29 cents a share compared to the street's projection of $39.4 million and 24 cents. There is no apparent reason for the stock to fall. It is a good buy in early pre-market at low price. Good chances of bounce back up.
NFLX - NetFlix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)
After the closing bell Wednesday, DVD-rental company Netflix Inc. (NFLX) announced that its second-quarter profit jumped 34%, by adding more than 1 million subscribers in the 3rd quarter. NetFlix Shares dropped around 10% in after hours on as the revenues came short of analyst's expectations.
CMTL - Comtech Telecomm Corp.(NASDAQ:CMTL)
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, has not been selected as the program manager and vendor for the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below, Blue Force Tracking 2 (FBCB2-BFT-2) program by the U.S Army. This is a huge Financial loss for the company. Shares were down 30% Wednesday. Thursday can bring a little correction but major move is not expected before the company can get the contract by protesting which is very unlikely.
AAPL - Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)
Net income for Apple Inc. (AAPL) leaped 78 percent and revenue reached a record last quarter. “It was a phenomenal quarter that exceeded our expectations all around, including the most successful product launch in Apple’s history with iPhone 4,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad is off to a terrific start, more people are buying Macs than ever before, and we have amazing new products still to come this year.”

Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) shares dropped 6.1% in after hours after the company announced second quarter results. Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) declared net revenue was $1.13 billion compared to analyst estimates of $1.16 billion. Net income rose to $213.3 million, or 15 cents a share which is 1 cent per share more than analysts expectations. Income last year same period was $141.4 million, or 10 cents a share.

ParkerVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRKR) announced Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with its confidential baseband partner to supply RF chipsets that incorporate ParkerVision's d2p(TM) technology, for a 3G mobile handset design win. The agreement includes negotiated pricing and other terms for the baseband partner's purchase of one million RF chipsets from ParkerVision. The chipsets will be used with baseband processors sold to a leading mobile handset OEM, who is a significant customer of ParkerVision's baseband partner. ParkerVision will host a conference call tomorrow, Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time.
STTN - Smart-Tek Solutions Inc(OTC:STTN)
Smart-Tek Automated Services, Inc. (STTN.OB) announced that it has signed an agreement with a Chicago-based broker who is targeting a minimum of $120 million in annual gross payroll with a resulting net reportable revenue (in compliance with GAAP) in excess of $40 million, subject to any adverse market changes. $40 million in annual gross payroll will be processed ($12 million net reportable revenue) by the quarter ending September 30, with the balance placed by quarter ending December 31. Wednesday can be another huge day for STTN.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) Climbs - Sales Forecast beats Estimates

Apple Inc. (AAPL) announced financial results for its fiscal 2010 third quarter ended June 26, 2010 Tuesday after market close. The Company posted record revenue of $15.7 billion and net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion, or $3.51 per diluted share compared to revenue of $9.73 billion and net quarterly profit of $1.83 billion, or $2.01 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 39.1 percent compared to 40.9 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 52 percent of the quarter’s revenue.
Net income for Apple Inc. (AAPL) leaped 78 percent and revenue reached a record last quarter. “It was a phenomenal quarter that exceeded our expectations all around, including the most successful product launch in Apple’s history with iPhone 4,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPad is off to a terrific start, more people are buying Macs than ever before, and we have amazing new products still to come this year.”
Apple sold 3.47 million Macs, 8.4 million iPhones in the quarter, 9.41 million iPods during the last quarter. Al the sales showed heavy increase apart from a 8% decline in iPod sales. The Company began selling iPads during the quarter, with total sales of 3.27 million.
I am amazed how Apple Inc. (AAPL) came up with a brilliant quarter after heavy negative media notes on iPhone 4 reception issues. Apple announced free cases for all iPhone customers which will cost the company about $175 million. All credit goes to true Apple Fans who want an Apple product and who don't care about negative hypes created by media.
Apple said that revenue for the three months ending in September will be about $18 billion. Analysts had predicted sales of $17 billion. The company also reported third-quarter revenue and profit that exceeded analysts’ predictions, resulting in gains in after hours continuing gains in regular hours on Tuesday.
Although AAPL faces tough competition in the smartphone market, we believe that its continuous effort to expand into international markets (52% sales for this quarter came from International sales), competitive pricing strategy and new product launches will drive tremendous growth.
